The starting point

In March 2023, I set off in search of my family's roots. I'll explore my Swedish artistic heritage, on my mother's and grandmother's side, to better understand where I come from. This is the starting point for Avsten: to pass on, as was once passed down to me, objects steeped in history. Objects rooted in tradition and designed to last.

I grew up surrounded by artists, precise gestures, and handcrafted objects imbued with memory and meaning. In my family, the hand was never simply a tool: it transmits, it connects, it tells stories. It is in this tradition that I find my place, creating objects that unite the one who imagines, the one who shapes, and the one who chooses. The daughter of a Swedish mother and a French father, I grew up between two cultures: the gentleness and rigor of Scandinavia meeting the intensity and sensitivity of France. This duality has shaped my perspective and my approach to materials, lines, and volumes. I am drawn to materials that speak, forms that endure, and objects that leave a physical and emotional imprint.
